About Mountain Boomer

The Mountain Boomer is located a few hundred feet off the Blue Ridge Parkway (mile marker 312), between Linville Falls and Grandfather Mountain. It is a haven where food, drink, and camaraderie intertwine to create an unforgettable experience. Our philosophy is based on three pillars: Food, Drink, and Community.

We specialize in smoked dishes including:  Pulled Pork, Chicken Quarters, chicken wings, Salmon, Chicken and Mushroom Chili, Macaroni and Cheese, and Baked Beans. Our Apple Slaw features constantly rotating apple varieties, including locally grown heirloom varieties when in season.

At The Mountain Boomer, we take pride in offering a diverse selection of beer, cider, and wine to complement your meal. We offer locally brewed beers, crafted from local breweries within a thirty-mile radius of our restaurant, ensuring freshness and quality with every sip. Savor one of our six ciders on tap, all proudly produced in North Carolina, highlighting the rich flavors of the region. Our wine list feature selections from around the world.

We are a veteran and a woman-owned business that puts community at the heart of everything we do. We proudly recognize veterans by asking them to sign our Veterans Recognition Board. Our first board has been signed by veterans from WWII to current active-duty members and will proudly be displayed in the restaurant.

We strive to offer a welcoming environment where our customers feel like part of the family. We’re also pet friendly, welcoming well-mannered pets in our outside seating area.

Guests are invited to enjoy open mic and jam sessions featuring local talent.  Each event is a unique experience, set against the backdrop of the High Country with artwork and murals depicting local natural attractions and beautiful mountain views from nearby hiking trails.

Stay tuned for exciting plans in 2024 as we prepare to add a small batch cidery, further expanding our offerings and celebrating the unique flavors of our community. We plan to use locally grown heirloom apples in our Mountain Boomer Ciders. Join us at The Mountain Boomer, where every visit is an opportunity to connect with the unique features of our region.

Definitely worth the stop!

We stumbled upon this cool spot while looking at the fall foliage along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Definitely worth the stop! We went on a Monday night and heard live local musicians on an open mic night- it was fantastic! The food was delicious and affordably priced, and the cider on tap was perfect! The smoked salmon on the appetizer menu is a hidden gem- so delicious! I Definitely recommend this spot!

This place is a real gem!

This place is a real gem! When my family was driving through the area, this was the only restaurant that was even open. We sure are glad that it was. They have a nice, smallish menu with good variety and a little bit for everybody. They’ve got a great selection of homemade BBQ sauces. The restaurant is very clean, and it has a great atmosphere. I bet that this place really lights up during the busy season. The owner was there when we visited. It was a pleasure speaking to him and his lovely staff. I don’t usually review places on here, but these guys definitely earned their five stars.

Awesome smoked mac and cheese, and wings

Food was great! Had fresh smoked BBQ, awesome smoked mac and cheese, and wings. He is working towards making his own ciders, so look forward to going back and trying it! I had a different local cider that was also great. If you like BBQ I recommend.
