Carefully crafted smoked meats, sides, salad, and chili
With favorites like carefully crafted smoked meats, sides, salad, and chili, TMB has a variety of foods to hit the spot. They have a large selection of locally sourced brews and wines as well. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable, and it’s a great place to meet up with friends. They often have live music too. Note: It’s right off the Parkway, so if you’re looking for solid food after a day on the trail, this is it.

Exactly what Linville was missing
This place is exactly what Linville was missing. Food is delicious, atmosphere is great and the conversation makes you feel welcome and right at home. Definitely recommend. We will be back!!!

Best Wood-fired Barbecue in NC
We stopped here on our way back from Linville Falls and were blown away by the outstanding food! We did not expect to find the best barbecue in all of North Carolina as well as the most delicious smoked Salmon we have ever tasted at a restaurant! The barbecue was actually prepared correctly where you could taste the wood-fire smoke that perfectly penetrated the meat resulting in the most succulent flavor you could imagine. The barbecue and salmon were both prepared with the utmost care and the sides were all homemade. The food was absolute perfection! This place takes pride in their food and it shows! If you are a barbecue lover, you must stop at this place and try it for yourself!

Great Stop!
We rolled into town past 6 while traveling the Blue Ridge. We got checked into our hotel and arrived at the restaurant about 6:55. They were closing up at 7. They still welcomed us in and served us great food very quickly. The hot ham and cheese and the pulled pork were both delicious. The owner was friendly and came to our table to welcome us and chat a bit. We will definitely stop here again if we are back in the area.

Unexpected great little restaurant
We were grateful to find this unexpected great little restaurant close to The Blueridge Parkway. It was the only place nearby still open on a Sunday night in the summer, and it was recommended to my husband and me by a park employee near Linville Falls, NC. The place is in a large rustic structure and includes a bar and live music, with lots of informal dining at large tables for families. The restrooms were simple but clean and well cared for. The menu included vegetarian options and some local favorites. My husband had a pulled-pork sandwich and I had a pulled-pork platter with sides of macaroni and cole slaw– all served promptly. It was delicious, and we liked paying upfront at the register so we didn’t have to wait around for the bill. The proprietor greeted us and mentioned that the place had just opened recently. Nice people and just the kind of place I was hoping to find in rural NC.

Highly recommend!
Pulled pork was delicious, great choice of sauces, available as well. Owner was very hospitable, and he supports our veterans! Actually has a sign on the wall for veterans to sign so people can acknowledge them and their service.

Enjoyed the live music, local beer, great barbecue
We found The Mountain Boomer by accident, while sight seeing during the rainstorms this past Sunday evening. What a great find! We really enjoyed the live music, local beer, great barbecue, sausage-stuffed portobello, and BLT club sandwiches. The potato salad is also great… like really great! This place is simple and simply fantastic. Dean, the owner, was super helpful with menu choices and with accommodating our questions and our family of six. It’s a short drive from Grandfather Mountain and from the Blue Ridge Parkway, so we’ll be back!
