Beer and Ice Cream. Then our wish came true
We had just finished two grueling hikes at Hawks Bill and and Upper Creek falls. We were exhausted and the kids were getting cranky. We were joking about finding a place with Beer and Ice Cream. Then our wish came true. We stopped to take pictures by the monster truck out front and saw the signs for Beer and Ice Cream. The kids were in heaven and we could quench our thirst. Great selection of beers and ciders. There were games outside for the kids while the parents relaxed. They even had a charcuterie board for us to snack on. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back. I still can’t get over the fact that someone earlier gave them two stars for not having Lays potato chips :0. I thought their chips were tasty and something different.

BBQ and ice cream!
During a recent trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway, we stopped at Mountain Boomers just to check it out since we loved Christa’s so much and have missed her. Mountain Boomers had been opened only a week. Although we only planned to get iced tea and ice cream, the BBQ smelled sooooooo good we got that also. The ice cream was excellent, but hands down, Mountain Boomers is the best BBQ I have ever eaten — anywhere! I typically want BBQ sauce on the meat. Not on Boomers’! The smoky flavor permeates the meat deliciously, and it is incredibly juicy without being greasy! I am recommending Mountain Boomers to everyone I know! It will be one my frequent go-to’s! In addition, it was great to meet Dean who told us about his background (retired Air Force) and having just finished a degree in Fermentation Science. I look forward to Mountain Boomers’ future — and more of their BBQ and ice cream!

the food was AMAZING
Took the whole family and the food was AMAZING even my picky boys ate their whole plate! We got the pulled pork plates, ham and cheese and hot dog. We loved the carolina sauce and the staff was awesome! We cant wait to be back and dont forget to leave room for dessert!

This location is perfectly located, barely off, the Blue Ridge Parkway. We were looking for a place to stop for sandwiches and such and glad we found it. We ended up talking to its proprietor. He advised us on local attractions and such. If traveling the BRP, stop in. Because of the lack of other options, consider MB 5 stars.
